Making it happen: Implementing the UN Principles for Responsible Investment

Time: 5:00pm - 7.00pm
Location: New York, USA

Venue: Millennium Broadway Hotel 145 W 44th Street, New York City, NY 1003

Just over four years after the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI) were launched by the UN Secretary-General in New York, the initiative has garnered the support of over 500 institutions representing more than US$ 18 trillion in assets in 36 countries.

The UN PRI has clearly succeeded in drawing support among the investment community. But as signatories to a voluntary and aspirational scheme, what can asset owners and asset managers do in concrete terms to promote the main goal of the PRI: to embed the idea of sustainability into investment management and encourage better corporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices?

To address these key issues, EIRIS is hosting a panel discussion in NYC with participation by the PRI and leading members of this investor coalition:

  • Jerome Tagger, COO, UN PRI
  • Michael Dieschbourg, CEO Global Currents
  • Laura Schaffer, Director of Shareholder Activities, Nathan Cummings Foundation
  • Peter Webster, Executive Director, EIRIS

EIRIS fully supports the PRI initiative and sees it as one of the most important developments in the field of responsible investment in the last 25 years. EIRIS has developed a PRI toolkit to enable signatories to integrate ESG data into their analysis process, identify priorities and goals for engagement, and monitor companies’ reporting practices.

The seminar is free of charge but space is limited. To attend this event, or if you would like further information, please email events@eiris.org.

Target audience: Asset Managers, Asset Owners, Foundations, Family Offices.
