Bespoke services
Our expertise in responsible investment issues means we can offer a broad range of bespoke services to investors.
These range from extending our coverage to include a bespoke universe of companies to producing brokerage style research reports on specific issues such as animal testing or forced labour. This combines the efficiency of shared research with an ability to meet specific needs exactly.
We provide this sort of bespoke research to a wide variety of clients. Examples include the Norwegian government pension fund, the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), the Co-operative Bank, F&C Asset Management and PenSam.
EIRIS also has a strong track record of working with index providers to develop their sustainable indices. For example, we have recently worked with the JSE to review and develop a robust set of criteria for their socially responsible investment (SRI) Index. This includes monitoring company HIV/AIDS policies and progress on Black Economic Empowerment.
Other examples of EIRIS bespoke research include:
- Working with clients who have identified a new area of ESG risk and want their portfolio assessed against it. This can include making proposals for ways to reduce the risks identified.
- Providing bespoke news services to give early warning of issues such as complicity in human rights abuses or environmental damage. This can be about tailoring our standard news searches, or devising additional ones using our knowledge of the issues and sources.
- Creating specific new thresholds or extra criteria for a particular client as a result of working with them to develop a policy that exactly suits a particular project.
- Providing sector or topic-based briefings to build a client's own capacity to build on the core research that EIRIS provides.
If you have a research requirement that isn’t met by our core criteria or coverage please contact our client team to discover how EIRIS' expertise in responsible investment can meet your needs.
